Things I'd miss about AZ
We are probably going to move out of Arizona and back to Texas to be closer to family this summer. I think I will really miss Arizona. One of the things I know I will miss is the abundance of good oranges. Man I love oranges. I consider myself an orange juice connoisseur. I love this time of year b/c I can buy those extra over-ripe oranges for next to nothing and make fresh-squeezed orange juice. Man, fresh-squeezed orange juice is just sublime to me. It's almost as good as getting fucked up on $80 wine. Don't know how I'll live without it.
Other things I'll miss:
Sedona
The White Mountains - especially all those mountain lakes and of course the snow.
All the mountain biking trails close to me
Cycling in Papago Park - I've done some mean cross country and downhilling in NorCal, but nothing compares to an hour of dipping in and out of those little washes in that tiny park.
The weather - Don't get me wrong, it is hot as FUCK in the summer. But man those winters, falls, and springs are so crisp and clean, and unwindy, unlike TX.
Driving for an hour and seeing a totally different climate.
There will probably be more once I'm gone, but, man, I find it so hard to move. Wish my parents or a sister would just move out here.
Here's a pic of us flying into Sedona. Glad my wife took a picture just then. It was such a breath-taking moment to fly into that bowl of red rocks. I'd been to Sedona several times before, but I never felt like that. I'd just never realized the valley was so damn big. It was very humbling.
